Okay, I know SOMEONE is reading this blog because of the flaming visitor tracker in the right column-->

But I have not had ONE single comment.

This blog is written for my students to keep them informed.

Did you notice the poll in the right hand column, asking YOU about your FCCLA involvement this year? Get involved!!

Did you take note of the activity dates for this year? These are the official Regional, State, and National activities.
What are you going to participate in?Did you save up for Access? Are you going to Cluster?

I'm just the advisor, the facilitator, the one that helps YOU.

FCCLA is only as good as the effort you put into it. Hmmmmm, I think that's how life works too!

Did you know that school starts Thursday?

I know you do, but thought I'd ask!
I have some requests for you:

If you can, come help at Open House on Monday Night,
6-7:30pm
we'll be handing out FCCLA fliers.
PLEASE wear an FCCLA shirt!

If you can come Monday at noon, we'll be baking mini-cupcakes.

We will hit the ground running with Member Recruitment.

There are some Member Drive incentives that we will introduce
at the first meeting
(whenever Mrs. Fox lets us know Club Days for this year).

There will be incentives for:

• paying your dues during August
  
• recruiting new members
  
• being active in other forms of member recruitment.
  

So let's start thinking FCCLA!!!

Summer Conference

Today I leave for Summer Conference, the annual FACS and other career tech programs conference for teachers in Springfield. I'll be bringing back ideas for the school year for FCCLA and our classes.

But before I go, I wanted to let you know that our FCCLA theme for the year has already been chosen and we'll try to integrate it into our classes too.

So here's your hint:

School will be starting sooner than you think!
Be sure to read and answer the poll to the right.

The National Leadership Conference (NLC) is now underway. You can follow along and see what's up as the week progresses. Already information has been released that Children's Miracle Network will be the National Service Project for this coming year.

CMN is close to my heart and I will tell you about it if you ask.

Are you paying attention? Extra Credit!!

Students:
If you visit our FACS/FCCLA blog (that means THIS blog) and post a comment about an entry, I will give you 1 point extra credit for the quarter.

Of course, no fair going back and commenting on every post just so you don't have to do your classwork. The comment must be timely, within a week of the original post, relevant and appropriate and have your first name and last initial (class hour if your name is common).

This works for the summer as well as for school breaks.
